Vietnamese Americans are actively changing the political landscape. With over 1.6 million Vietnamese Americans in the U.S., we stand to influence all levels of government through the promotion of leaders and policies that protect and advance the community.
Join Vietnamese leaders on August 25th to learn more about PIVOT and how we are mobilizing communities across the nation to strengthen our political voices.
Conversation led by Dr. Tung Nguyen & Linda Phan, Former Commissioners for President Obama.
Tung Nguyen, MD
Dr. Nguyen came to the U.S. in 1975 at the age of 10 as a refugee. He graduated from Harvard College in 1986 and the Stanford University School of Medicine in 1991. Dr. Nguyen served as Commissioner on President Barack Obama’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) from 2011 to 2014 and as the Chair of the Commission from 2014 to 2017.
He co-founded the AAPI Victory Fund, the first SuperPAC that aimed at mobilizing AAPI voters using a data-driven precision approach. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the Leaders Forum, which is dedicated to promoting awareness of the growing social, political and cultural importance of Asian Americans, and to developing pathways for AAPIs to move from private sector leadership to public service.
