Derek Tran for U.S. House of Representatives, District 45
/
Derek Tran
Congressman Derek Tran was elected by 653 votes in the second closest race in the country in 2024. He is the son of immigrants, an Army veteran, a former consumer rights attorney, and a small business owner. Now, he is the first Vietnamese American to represent Little Saigon, the world's largest Vietnamese diaspora, in Congress.
Derek has proven himself to be a strong advocate for the 45th district, introducing legislation that would protect veterans’ jobs and require Veterans impacted by President Trump’s massive federal layoffs to be reinstated. Derek is standing up to Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans' efforts to cut Medicaid and Medicare to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.
