Phi Nguyen is the daughter of Vietnamese refugees, an attorney, and an AAPI community organizer. Since March, she has dedicated numerous hours to canvassing and phone banking Vietnamese voters in GA-6 about Jon Ossoff because she believes a healthy democracy must include the voices of all communities. In her own words:
"Like so many other Vietnamese Americans, I grew up not understanding the power of my vote. On the inside, I had parents who treated politics with suspicion; on the outside, no one tried to foster my political voice either. Now I understand that when we don't vote, we give up our power to build an America that considers us or reflects our values. The current political climate is anti-immigrant and anti-people of color. We can change that--but only if we're willing to lean into our power to do so."
Election Day is June 20. Polls are open 7 AM to 7 PM. Check your voting location at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.
